Holly
Houston, Ed.D.
Holly Houston, Ed. D. is the Executive Director of Relearning
by Design. She has a long history of involvement in non-profit
management and in designing as well as evaluating educational
initiatives. Her recent program evaluation has focused on
funded initiatives in the arts, in museum and pediatric
hospital education, and in special education.
Holly currently leads the New Jersey Curriculum Initiative (NJCI),
the content focus of which is skill-based understanding through
unit design in reading, writing, speaking and listening, k-12
across the curriculum.
She is a former high school social
studies and physical education teacher and coach. She earned
her Ed.D. from Teachers College at Columbia University and her
A.B. from Stanford University. Holly served as Executive
Director of the Coalition of Essential Schools, as well as on
the boards of the Waldorf School of Princeton, and Storytelling
Arts. She is the mother of three children. |
