What does Relearning
by Design do? Relearning by Design provides services in the form of
consultation, training, workshops, seminars, videoconferencing, collaborations
across institutions, and large conferences or presentations nation-wide.
Relearning by Design also produces and markets products relating to student
assessment and curriculum design for use by educators, in the form of print
material, videotapes, audio tapes, and software.

Do Relearning by Design staff members
work with school faculties? Yes. Relearning by Design senior staff
often work with large and small groups of faculties as part of professional
development programs or in-service days, in response to specific requests by the
school, district or university faculty. Relearning by Design also works with
faculties under the auspices of regional service centers (such as IU's in
Pennsylvania, BOCES in New York, and Service Areas in Iowa.

What services other than training do you
offer? We consult to school boards, district officials, and other
organizations on reform-related matters. We train staff in peer review and
quality control over local curriculum and assessment. We offer our services as
"critical friends" for review of local committee work, and review of current or
proposed curriculum and assessment. We can also serve as consultants in the
reform process working with administrators School Boards, parent groups, etc

You did not offer many
Relearning by Design-sponsored small workshops and large conferences, on
curriculum and assessment this past year. Will Relearning by Design still be
offering workshops and conferences open to all educators?
Yes. Keep an eye on
our web site. Small workshops and large conferences, on curriculum and
assessment, will be offered this year. In addition, of course, all Relearning by
Design professional staff present at major regional and national conferences. We will post such relevant upcoming events on our Web site.

can I get copies? Check the

Relearning by Design material is copyrighted. Can we make copies of handouts for
local use in schools? Yes you can, as long as you are not directly or
indirectly selling the materials as part of a workshop or conference that others

What is the Relearning by Design
history?
Relearning by Design (formerly The Center on
Learning, Assessment, and School Structure) was established in 1991 as a
not-for-profit corporation in Rochester, New York. Relearning by Design moved to
Geneseo, New York in 1991 and to the Princeton, New Jersey area in 1994.
Relearning by Design has consulted to over fifty school districts, large and
small, ten state departments of education, and numerous national organizations.
